Our services

Residential air duct cleaning in Minnesota.

Air duct cleaning removes dust and debris from the supply and return ducts, vents and registers that carry air through your home. We clean what we can reach, working from the furnace out to each register, and we tell you what we found.

In an older basement with white stone walls, a technician connects a large vacuum hose to the main duct beside the furnace.
On a bright snowy morning a technician carrying an equipment case steps through the front door of a modern Minnesota home while the homeowner, holding a coffee mug, welcomes him.

What is air duct cleaning?

Your furnace and air conditioner move air through a network of metal or flexible ducts. Supply ducts carry conditioned air to each room, and return ducts bring it back to the system. Over time, dust, pet hair, lint and construction debris can collect inside.

Air duct cleaning removes that loose build-up from the ducts, vent openings and registers we can reach, so the system moves air through cleaner metal.

When is air duct cleaning worth it?

There is no calendar rule that fits every home. Cleaning tends to make sense when something specific has changed:

  • You finished a renovation or remodel, and fine dust may have been drawn into the ducts.
  • You moved into a home and do not know when the ducts were last cleaned.
  • You see visible dust or debris at the registers, or dust that returns quickly after cleaning.
  • You found signs of pests, such as droppings or nesting material, in a vent.
  • A cabin or lake home has sat closed for months and you want a look before the season.

Not sure? A camera inspection lets you see the inside of the ducts before you decide.

What happens during a visit?

Every visit follows the same four steps: you request a quote, we visit and look at the system, we clean what we agreed to, and we report what we found and what we did.

We look atThe supply and return vents, the visible ductwork and the dust that has collected inside.
We cleanThe ducts and vent openings we can reach, so loose dust and debris are removed from the system.
We reportWhat we found and what we cleaned. Anything outside cleaning goes in the report.

What does duct cleaning do, and not do?

Duct cleaning removes build-up from the ducts. That is the whole promise, and we think it is better to be plain about it.

  • The U.S. EPA’s consumer guidance says research has not shown that duct cleaning prevents health problems, and that dust in ducts does not necessarily enter the living space. It suggests cleaning when ducts are visibly contaminated, infested with pests or clogged with debris.
  • Cleaning does not repair leaks, fix airflow problems or replace furnace service. We do not do HVAC, electrical or gas work.
  • If a duct is damaged or disconnected, a licensed HVAC contractor is the right call.
  • If we see visible mold, the moisture source needs fixing first, and cleaning alone will not solve it.

Which homes do we clean?

We clean ducts in homes across Minnesota: older Minneapolis bungalows and duplexes, newer suburban builds, farmhouses and cabins, and lake homes up north. Each has its own duct layout, so we look before we quote the work.

Common questions

How long does air duct cleaning take?

The time depends on the size of the home and how many vents and returns it has. Larger homes, lake homes and cabins with several heating zones may take longer. We talk through the scope before work starts.

How much does air duct cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on the home and is quoted per job. The size of the house, the number of vents and the services you need all play a part, so we quote your home instead of using a flat rate.

How should I prepare my home?

Clear floor space and furniture around vents and returns so we can reach them, keep pets in a closed room, and note anything you want us to look at. Our preparation checklist has the details.

Is duct cleaning messy?

It should not be. Keeping the work area tidy is part of doing the job well, and we talk through how the work will go before it starts.

Can you inspect before cleaning?

Yes. A camera inspection shows the inside of the ducts first, and if they look fine we will say so.
