What does a camera inspection show?
A small camera on a flexible cable runs into the ductwork or the dryer vent you choose, and you watch the live view with us. It can show dust and debris build-up, lint, blockages, crushed or disconnected sections, and signs of pests or moisture along its path.
Our guide, what does a duct camera inspection show?, covers this in more detail.
When is an inspection worth booking?
- You are deciding whether cleaning is worth the cost and want to see first.
- You finished a renovation and want to know whether dust got into the ducts.
- You are moving into or buying an older home.
- A dryer takes longer than it used to.
- You want to check the result after a cleaning.
What happens during a visit?
What can a camera not tell you?
- What is behind walls, or past a bend or closed damper the camera cannot pass.
- How much air is moving. It is a look, not an airflow test.
- Whether dust in a duct reaches the air you breathe.
If the camera shows a crushed or disconnected duct, a licensed HVAC contractor is the right call. If it shows visible mold, the moisture source needs to be found first.
Common questions
Can I watch the inspection?
Yes. The point of a camera inspection is that you can see for yourself, so we show you the live view or images and you can ask us to stop and look at anything.
Do I need an inspection before every cleaning?
No. It is optional, and most useful when you are unsure whether cleaning is needed or want a record of how the ducts looked.
Can the camera inspect a dryer vent?
Yes. It can follow a dryer vent run and show lint build-up, a crushed section or a blocked outside hood.
How much does a camera inspection cost?
Pricing depends on the property and what you want inspected, and is quoted per job. Tell us about the home and we will quote it.
